Do none of you guys/gals download and save programs now days?

Do you simply click "update and install" ? Why?

PS, I have an older version of FireFox saved to disc...if anyone wants to remove the new, and roll back :)

If it gets to be too much of a problem, I can always go back to a restore point, which will take it back to the previous version. So far, it still hasn't been too bad since the clean up.

Agreed, I am working on problems now... NOT this site... it IS the browsers. Sigh, it NEVER, ever ends....

Technology - it's a beautiful thing when it works right, when it doesn't, you just want to throw it out the window, preferably from at least a 2nd story window!

Its even more fun when you have to track down a intermittent network issue.

Are you running XP or vista? I just bought a new laptop a couple of days ago that had vista in it,and fire fox did not work at all so i downloaded opera and that worked fine(i love the tabs).. But after a few days i got sick of vista and uninstalled it and loaded XP then reinstalled Firefox and holly molly it worked fine.
    Anybody try google chrome yet?

Personally, I'm enjoying the hell out of Vista. For several reasons,

#1 I have too many idiot friends and family who know little to nothing about OS and PC's. And I'm the first person they call. Vista makes my job so much easier :D

Generally, I can have their system corrected and stable within 5-10 minutes, over the phone :D

#2 With enough horsepower (ram) Vista has a sleek look. I've got 4 gig

#3 Vista can be "owned" with the proper tweaks. Performance can be boosted as much as 30% with a few clicks. Especially nice for those who don't have enough ram.

Performance enhancements can be gotten here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/supertweaks.htm

Choose the ones you want, or leave them functioning. There's a more indepth (#9) tweak section, for those that are comfortable tweaking their system. And BV knows his stuff. So stability issues have already been addressed.

My kids laptop has vista and 2 gb of ram, and he has no problems with the upgrade. I'll be upgrading the ram on my desktop in a month or so. Until then, I'll use internet explorer.
