Circadian Rhythm Knocked about, Can Cause Day &/or Night Drowsiness Which Has Been Proven Countless Times To Affect The Effectiveness Of Driving.
BEST To Stick To One Schedule, Either Night or Day.
Trucking Is A 24 Hour Gig But MANY DRIVERS Cannot, Could Not & Will Not Be Able To Just "Flip A Switch".
Dispatchers ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF ANY TRUCK!!

Sleep Apnea is real and if you think you may have it, you should talk to your doctor about it. Then a sleep study if necessary.

OP also stated he's on anti-depressents. Which may have played into it. I've often wondered also why so many guardrails get hit at the beginning of the rail and are a tangled mess as you drive by. I mean, a driver drives for miles and doesn't run off the road when there's open space, but as sson as the guardrail starts, BAMM, he's running into it !
