If you still have a job I hope you will pay a little more attention on the road for low bridges and tree limbs if on city streets as they can get you too.
I don't remember if it was the first or second time in the schools truck, a 10 speed we were heading for a low under pass with out a sign and I stopped in the middle of the road with people behind me and asked the instructor about the bridge. He said it was ok I went slow & checking till I was out the other side.
BTW my job, heating oil truck driver, the bosses truck is a 9 speed that I drove about 20 miles a few stops & back to the yard. I did as much grinding as the boss did in his own truck. He kept telling me to bring the RPM's up a little higher. My truck is and auto, first truck I have driven that is auto, talk about getting use to it!
BTW I learned on a 5sp 2 sp rear dump truck and that shifted different than the other dump 5/2 the Co. had.
Show me the gear pattern and I should be able to drive it with out too much grinding and after a day thinking vary little at all.
