First Day Solo

in VA the "unofficial" quota is 120 inspections per month per officer. Tickets don't matter as much. Mainly because most of the time even a level 1 will get something written.

 

A legitimate inspection is fine, but those phoney inspections where they write up something that doesn't exist or just make up something is just crooked. It's happened to me. One time a DOT officer pointed to a trailer light that was obviously working and said that tail light is out. I asked which one, because they were all working. He said, that one is out and if you disagree we can dig deeper during this inspection; sign the ticket here, and you're out of service until the light is fixed. I thing the fine was $75.00

 

I see your new in all and I wish you good luck. There are 2 things you need to never do. First is do what ever you can not to hit other trucks in the truck stop parking lot, I have been hit twice in 5 months by box truck drivers. It's really a epidemic at truck stops. Second is don't tie up the fuel island, get your fuel as soon as you pull in and then pull up and do what ever you need.
