That's your fault for taking a week off. Taking a week off is setting the stage for failure.

I've seen where some drivers make $1200 -$1400 a week their first year driving . Why would anyone want to sacrifice half their potential income to lease a truck ?AfterShock Thanks this. -
I believe I would smack the first person that told me I had to be on the road over a week at a time. I have stayed out more than that, but it was my decision with my truck. -
1) You can hire a company relief driver to drive your truck while you are at home. The relief driver will return the truck to you when you want to get back on the road.
I did this at CRE for about 3 months. Moving in and out of trucks every other week got old, so I switched to have a more permanent truck.
2) You can hire a 2nd seat driver. That 2nd seat driver will stay with the truck and drive it when you're on vacation. Hiring a 2nd seat also concludes you will be running a team operation with that driver.AfterShock Thanks this. -

dunno know why they have a spot for O/O on there website when they don't allow them to contract for them. hmmm maybe its just another way for them to suck someone into leasing a trk as they say all englands trrucks meet up to there specs sounds fishy. not that i would latch onto them but still

yes thats all we can do is trust that that person will be fine. i never trust any company no matter who it is seems like there all say one thing and do another in todays world. sounds like you been trough hell and back but you picked yourself up and dusted yourself and started over. i wasn't giving out discourgaging information just wanted this person to be forwarned to what there getting into before making a choice i would rather have the bomb dropped on me before the fact rather than after the fact. and in my honest opinion a newbie don't have no place leasing a truck not being crude or picking. but i think it's smart they go co driver for a year gain some experiance and to really make sure it's what they wanna do for the rest of there career as well to make sure it's really what they wanna do!! now as far as the lease option goes not all of em are bad but what they need to know is they will need a good laywer to go over the lease with em to see who it benifeits ( them ) or the company as well as a good tax accountant that specializes in truckers tax. they should also talk to drivers and see if they like the company they work for. another thing they should know to is that some banks or lenders won't even look at em with xxx amount of experiance for a loan. do they have any revenue save up if so how much incase of a break down as well as fuel ain't cheap eathier never mind tires. and if they have no experiance there insurance will kill em. and as in L/O if they drop a load and there settlement says they made 600 bucks there out there spending it thinking they already deducted the taxes nope they don't!! or some lease programs may pay for ther insurance and certain things but they might bill the L/O back for em also. and if they can do it then take a bussiness mangement course that will help out to. like rick said trucking isn't a place where you can learn from bad experiances you can literaly loose everything from making the wrong choice and or wind up in jail. what i was telling this person is to cover there ### no one else will -

I'm going to CRE, 12/26. I have my own Cdl (2yrs) no experience. CRE claims it will give me refresher, 10 days, no charge, and then min. 60 days training. Still not sure if I should do this. Would much rather drive myself to IN and find my own hotel.
