The better question is....WHO DO YOU DRIVE FOR? That makes you keep a drug test kit in the truck?
If I have an accident, and they require a drug test, they will transport me to a facility like a hospital, or med point type of place to have it done. You think they will trust a kit carried by a trucker in his cab to be accurate? Think again.....:biggrin_25512:

I'm not saying that Pattyj is correct, but the company I drive for requires us to have them. It may be for the company's convenience when they pull you for random tests, don't know, just that we have a couple of kits in our trucks.

There is no regulation requiring kits in the truck.

That may be, but then who does the actual testing? Someone trained in the medical profession? Or some schmuck from the front office, or a maybe untrained police officer on the side of the road?
If they want a random, and they send you to the med point with a SEALED drug test kit, I'd probably be OK with that.

If you have a kit you can use any collection point. The kit has the proper chain of custody paperwork for whatever lab your company is set up with. The specimen has to be collected under fmcsa criteria, not by a roadside dot.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

How was this drug screen administered? There is no way they can do an accurate 5 panel drug test roadside. Are you positive it was a drug test or was it an alcohol test?

    Tazz and Lonesome Thank this.
