This left me speechless. That company is way below the bottom of the barrel. That's criminal negligence, period.

I agree with the poster who said take those pictures to the dot/police and to the unemployment people.

Really? In Canada you would have good grounds with proof like that. You can't be made to run unfit equipment.

I can't see it in the US, if you refuse and they fire you you would have a good case for it but not if you quit.

Don't think the op would be able to collect as he said this was a "cash job".

Triaxles don't flip over very easy unless Ur on severly sloped ground or experience a failure of the Rear Body Pins or Hydralic Cylinder.

Not true. You can quit for cause and still get UI Benefits. Depends on the situation.

No insurance to truck and non OEM repiars? Id say that's cause enough. Think of the enforcement possible should they catch the driver. I don't know the ins and outs buta driver should be able to protect his future because as another poster said, a bad company or even a deliberately illegal one not insuring a truck (And it is a driver's responsibility and duty to check for same prior to working) should be cause enough to get out.

Prior to my joining the famous little dumptruck outfit in my life we had a driver who knew there were problems with the rig and blew the whistle to DOT some time before I joined. He had actually hit three cars in a fit of temper for whatever reason and it turned into a authorities hunting him instead. My employer sunk almost 5000 dollars into that mack500 dump, part of it went to me and my foreman on the dirt pulling duals off to get the bad bearings changed. A real shade tree day. But those bearings were good and never gave any trouble. (Thankfully...)

I suppose when you put something of sweat blood and tears into a truck, there is something that gets transferred into it and it becomes one of the best trucks in your working life sometimes. that one did, despite it's limitations.
