I would just wear a nice button up shirt and blue jeans there is no need to dress in a suit for a driving job I would c heck most drivers wear sweat pants an flip flops any more I also was wondering if we could use a calculator on any of the test

I wore dress pants, shirt and tie. I think I stood out but in a good way. I did get hired anyway. I'm one who believes it's tough to over dress for an interview but that's just me. Wearing sweats and flip flops driving at Dot would not be acceptable attire. Their drivers have a lot of contact with customers at least the Delivery Specialist Drivers do. Not that their drivers wear shirt and ties but they are required to wear safety shoes and dress appropriate for customer contact. You are not allowed to use a calculator for the math test but they do give you a piece of scratch paper to use.

Say Dan... Without reading all through the thread, are you a delivery guy or a transfer guy? I don't mind work and I'm looking forward to some physical activity (especially when I've heard how well they pay you for doing it) but I'm also wondering how much of your day is unloading and how much is driving. I'm hoping they don't swing it too far in the direction of breaking down loads. A lot of guys here have mentioned that's what you do as a grocery driver but a lot of guys have said it's not as bad as it seems.
Just curious what your take is being so new to it. -
Something else I'm interested in finding out... Do new drivers get their own truck after training is completed? I've seen some threads where slip seating for a half a year or so is mentioned. Those are older posts, so maybe that doesn't happen anymore.
While I was typing this I had another question. What sort of sleep/wake cycle are drivers able to keep? I think in grocery store delivery you end up doing a lot of the delivering in the graveyard hours. I don't mind staying up and driving at night or the early morning as long as I'm able to keep the same sleep/wake time from day to day. Changing the time you go to sleep and wake up every day is murder on your health. -
Well went for interview today they told me they would call me tomorrow. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing they said everything looked fine to them so I guess I'll just wait n c

It take awhile to get hired. You go to 3 different interviews..
-
I done three today and a road test how much more is there to go through
-
Look like there waiting for background check .. but if you gone this far your chances of getting hired is very good

I got a call today from Dot today and they lifted the medical hold on me so now the only thing I have left is the ability test. I was already given a job offer and a start date then the medical hold was put on me at the last minute. That has delayed things for me about four weeks so far. I'm hoping to start a week from this coming Monday which will be their next round for orientation.

That what they told me to if every thing looked good I'm might be looking at aweek from Monday in Mt. Sterling but I have to wait n c maybe they will call me today
