I got wrote up for this one about a year ago. That particular member of Maryland’s finest has an obvious hardon for LTL trucks and grabbed me 4 times in a month once.
I think the prick sported wood when he saw my “dangerous” placards and figured he’d get to ding somebody for a hazmat violation, got mad when he couldn’t find one, and resorted to pulling the cheap “chafed air line” card that you can probably write up 90% of the trucks on the road for.
EuropeanTrucker, Suspect Zero, Vic Firth and 10 others Thank this. -
I reserve that moniker for the one’s who shoots little puppies during a police raid, or mows down a scared, drunken, innocent suspect who isn’t very adept at walking on his knees with hands interlocked behind his head. This cop is a “pig” and should have gone to prison.
That’s a little harsh for some who dings you during an inspection.

You or your company can DataQ the violation. But it will be sent to the same guy that did the inspection so chances of him overruling himself are slim.
^^^This. Always ask to see the problem so you can get it fixed.
And the inspectors at the California scales with the inspection bays are not DOT cops. Just paid to inspect trucks. Unlike the ones that run around in the pickup trucks. If you would have been given a ticket it would have been written by a real DOT copTrucker61016, ZVar, SteveScott and 1 other person Thank this. -
He chose to get drunk and then freak out when the cops came I didn't choose to be inspected

I feel like this hamster in the government made wheel when they pull me for an inspection at the scale house. -
That's correct; they pull that one a lot. It's all about making the boss think they're doing their job and finding violations on trucks.Blue Zombie Trucker, TheLoadOut and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
