NY is not nearly as bad as the storytellers say... traffic is traffic and there are some real hell holes in PA/ EL Paso, etc... just make sure you have lots of toll money and NO PARKWAYS!!!!
FatDaddy Thanks this. -

Shortly after I got done with the Army in 1970 I drove for a small company delivering milk and dairy products from a dairy in the north corner of NJ to the Ding Dong Dairy c-stores in the five boroughs and out to Long Island . I heard that story my first day on the job and the boss told me I would pay for anything I hit intentionally or not .
The second week I found myself in the same situation . There was no calling the cops because every pay phone around had been plundered . I flagged down the cops a few hours later and after ppaying them $50 they stopped cross traffic so I could back out for blocks . There was going to be no running over cars allowed .
Think about this: the way cars were built in those days would have laid your trailer over if you could have "run over the hood " which would have been impossible from a standing start .
What's the difference between a truck driver and a story teller ? The truck driver doesn't start with , "once upon a time ". -
I actually asked a friend of mines who is a nypd officer and he told me that as long as the car is parked past the "no parking anytime" a trucker can hit it and it wont be consequences against the truck driver because whoever parked the car there is violating city laws so thus the owner of the car has no case against the truck driver and if the trucker calls the police they will get a ticket as previously said in this thread.

I wonder what the companies position would be if in doing so you damaged the trailer, even a flat, something that cost them money... Is it a preventable incident?
-
based on what he told me is not even an accident on the driver since they wont make a police report.... it helps the owner operator but the company driver will be up to the discretion of his company but you can get a trailer tire for 300 on northern jersey
KMac Thanks this. -
You are full of #### . A four wheeler doing stupidity is not a license to run them over . Not in NYC. Not anywhere . My uncle was NYPD . My cousin is NYPD and my nephew is NYPD . My uncle is gone but the cousin and nephew agree ; you are full of #### . Welcome to the lunch counter and tell us another tale .inkeper Thanks this.
