For me a 55 ton 8 axle preferably a beam would be my ideal job.jamespmack, Oxbow and SavageMuffin Thank this.

I figured a 6 with a 13’ blade had to be an LGP.jamespmack, Oxbow and MACK E-6 Thank this.

He’s right.
I admire a “get it done” attitude, but at the same time you must remember to respect what you’re dealing with.jamespmack and Oxbow Thank this. -
Oh totally, I agree. I’m nowhere near touching that. Mostly just making a joke.jamespmack, Oxbow, johndeere4020 and 1 other person Thank this.

Same page, Gunner.
Years ago, there were the lot lizards. In recent years, it's all good buddies doing their goodbuddy morse code. I guess peter puffin is all the rage, I dont want no part of that, but occasionally I make the mistake of stopping in their turf. Alright. "Dont want none, dont knock again, dont worry you will never see me in this place ever again and I wish you guys would mark your territory by putting some sort of rainbow sticker somewheres because I sure as hell wouldn't stop in your turf."
But to have some dumb arse steeringwheelholder, beat on the sleeper, and demand to know why I have 2 spots...we're going straight to war.jamespmack, stwik, LoneCowboy and 4 others Thank this. -
Soooo, we’re 14’4 tall, around 12’3 Wide, and roughly 90’ overall length. Wide and Long doesn’t bother me... this is my... 3rd over height I think... still not sure how I feel about over height.. part of me doesn’t like it at all, part of me loves it.
I think I know the why for both. I read a quote from @Ruthless once I THINK it was him, correct me if I’m wrong. It basically said find something people won’t do, can’t do, or don’t do, then do it.
The possibility of getting over height loads has been in the back of mind since I started doing this, cause I knew it was coming one day if I wanted to progress, though it freaked me out a little.
That quote though, along with other reasons, pushes me to want to do it. Why? Well the general consensus I get is that most people don’t want to be tall, so if I can get good at being tall, and all that entails, it’s just another way to be better at my job and more to bring to the table.jamespmack, Oxbow, MACK E-6 and 4 others Thank this. -
I gotta look at everything and measure when I get there, but apparently gonna be 14’5 tall and it’s going to Florida, down below Orlando and Tampa.
Now, most of my tractor experience in FL has been Northern Florida.
I know the further south you go, the worse parking gets. Majority of the time I’m able to park on site and I’m hoping this is the case.
So yeah, that’s where we’re at so far in my journey in the oversized world. Although, I did hear talk of me getting moved up so I can haul up to 15’ tall. Pretty stoked about that but also kinda nervous. I have yet to work with a pole car, so, if that ever happens I’m sure it will be an experience.
For now though, I’ll be getting a room and enjoy being off until Monday.jamespmack, Oxbow, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
@SavageMuffin thank you for sharing your story. I personally have always wanted to haul os and you have re ignited that spark in me to try to get off into it. I think I need to run for a company before trying it on my own with my truck. It has been a life long dream of mine ever since I was about 8 and saw one of the huge probably 20 axle trailers with a pusher truck and police escort taking up the whole road. It was amazing. I've hauled plenty of heavy equipment for my excavation company just nothing that was quite os and that paid me for hauling it. Thank you once again for your story and I will be following along from here on out.
Oxbow and SavageMuffin Thank this.
