programs I am finding I want directly on my homepage for my phone.
Raindar. Quick and accurate weather pictures based off your GPS location. None of that pissin' around like weatherchannel or some of the other sites.
Pandora
Navigator. Just as accurate as any of the big motor carrier GPS units and it came with the phone free.
Local, you have to use your head on where you are going and still have to rely on doing things the old fashion way. Written directions and talking with other drivers.
first pay check.

Um apple didnt change the game they just had more money to advertise (brainwash) people. It also helped that they were exclusive to one company for a while. which made demand vs supply go up. It actually all started with Blackberry. They were the first smart phone. They changed the game. Another reason apple is worth so much is because they drop a new device every year just about which pretty much makes last years model obsolete. which forces all their users to go out and buy the newest greatest model. It is a good business plan and will continue to make money as long as people are brand loyal.

I dont like pandora because it plays a bunch of crap music that i dont want to hear. I use iheartradio most of the time. I like it better.
-
you have the ability to "like" and "dislike" anything you hear.
If you don't "dislike" it, it continues to play it. Once you do that, you never hear it.
The more you do that, the more it becomes tailored to your preferences. -
yeah but it only lets you dislike so many an hour. and for example i wanted to listen to Journey it played 5 songs before a journey song which were ok songs but then it played katy perry who i cant stand and then kelly clarkson.. then went into playing country songs. now iheartradio played 3 out of 8 songs that were journey and the other songs were other "hair" bands which i love as well.
There is also slacker radio but i havent used it too much. -
you can "dislike" as many as you want. That's the "thumb's down".
You can only "skip" 4-5 a day. That's the ">>" button. Big difference.
After I paid for my year, I can "skip" as many songs as I want to. Plus I don't have any more ads to ever see on the program or listen to ever again. -
between weather apps, browsing the internet while waiting to get loaded, checking email, streaming music, using google maps/earth, checking bank balance, etc its become invaluable
MNdriver Thanks this. -
Back to your original point, you will have a lot of important things to buy over the next few months. tools, fridge, supplies. spend your money during training wisely. $400 a week sounds like a huge check, but thats real easy to go through on the road.

couple of other suggestions...
Briefcase. I got mine at Office Depot. It's actually a laptop case now. Hard sided. Full length piano hinge on the thing too. Bid enough, the Atlas will fit in it too. Cost $70.
Rand McNally Motor Carrier Atlas.
Aluminum bills clipboard.
Tool bag with basic tools for like changing light bulbs and such.
Zebra 0.7mm fine point pens. they just are the best pens I have found for doing logs.
From there. Just start making a list. But don't "plan" anything for at least 6 weeks. Little "things" will pop up you will need.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Wow, your getting screwed. We have two Evos and then an older Droid type phone for my kid. We get unlimited data, text, etc... Like 1200 minutes shared and unlimited to any other mobile phone and I don't think we pay more than 170/month. More like 160 I think.
Go through Sprint...sometimes, if I'm in the back woods somewhere, the cell service is spotty but always can text without issues.
I think I quoted the wrong post....whoever is paying 150 a month for one phone is who I was talking to lol
