Both trucks sound like good starter trucks. Now if only the Pete had the 265" wheelbase with the Cat. Nothing wrong with a Freightliner though. They have a reputation for shakes and rattles. My classic goes down the road like a dream and is real tight inside with a little over 900 on the clock. Doesn't quite compare to my old Marmon but I like it. Best of luck to you.
