Yes Loves north of Atlanta I-75 exit 310 is called Cartersville, GA. It's nice, but it fills up fast. Also the QT or Quik Trip at exit 306 is nice.

Yeah? What's exit 283? Emerson? I got a fuel receipt there once and it said Cartersville, GA but I think it's Emerson on the app.

Well let me rephrase, earlier I said Atlanta isn't that bad..it really isn't compared to the other places I drove, LA, Dallas, Houston, NY, Chicago,. Yes ATL sucks but not as bad at these that I just listed.

I'm a local driver in Atlanta. Your best bet if possible is to get in and out during the night. If that's no possible then the middle of the day is your next best bet but you want to be back on 316, headed north, no later than 1500. If you can't schedule it that way then make sure you have plenty of hours available. Unfortunately where you are coming from and going to is some of the heaviest traffic in Atlanta.

Little story and I’ll keep it short. couldn’t get to the 285 bypass fast enough and had to go through downtown, that was my first time in Atlanta. Thought I was going to hit a bridge or whatever. Then I kept seeing trucks. That portion of my trip is still one of my most nerve racking one’s ever.

I used to do intermodal duty in and around Atlanta, back (mostly) in 2020.

I would submit that probably the worst part of CDL driving in that area (excluding the 4-wheeler crazies) is the lack of readily available, safe CDL parking in/near Atlanta--unless your employer has a terminal or yard there.

As described earlier/above, by others--I also felt that the truckstops in and near Atlanta were either always too full, a total mess--or both.

And yes--the Atlanta area inside the I-285 loop is (mostly) off limits to big rigs--hazmat, or not.

Having said all that--I totally agree with what GoVol said above, about how to drive Atlanta.

Basically, if you possibly can....come into the Atlanta area with a fat clock, and/or late at night/wee hours of the morning.

Sunday afternoons/evenings are usually bad timing, too.

Yes, the Loves app calls exit 283 Emerson, GA. NOBODY SHOULD STOP THERE ANY TIME OR REASON.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm trying to understand the allure of that location. They only have McDonald's and Subway

And getting in and out of there is a nightmare anytime of day. The place is small and tight and ridiculous in all honesty
