I told one of my fleet managers once, keep me in the north as far as possible, and I don't care what time of year. He was a southern lad, he figured I wasn't quite right.

-
I don't have a problem running in Canada except for what happened to one of our drivers.
He died in his sleep in Winnipeg.
It was at this point, I realized, that if it had been me, my wife could not come to Canada and get me or do a visitation. No passport.
In fact, no one else in my family has one.
I still have no idea what will happen if something happens. -
Canadians and Norther States residents for the most part are quite alike.
More laid back I guess, very much so in Alaska too. -
To blazes with Starbucks, Tim Horton's is the REAL DEAL folks!!
-
Ya, that could be a problem. I'd think some exceptions would be made due to those circumstances. Good question to follow up on. That's something I should look into myself.
Ya, I've noticed the same, and that's a good thing. I've been accused of being one of you guys many times, I always just say thank you.
No argument there at all. Best coffee hands down! Two cranberry bran muffins and an xtra large double-double please!

I did not run into Canada for 4 months. Still have no clear idea.
Airlines say no board without passport.
US says no return without passport by vehicle.
Guess best thing to happen is that if it does, not my problem.

I think with someone like you or I, your FAST/Xpress card, or enhanced license would work for the body. My passport expired, and after talking with CBP, my FAST card is good for any land border crossing, just like my enhanced license is. Both can be used in my POV as well. As far as someone coming in to claim the body that has neither, I just don't know, but you can bet I'm going to find out. I think the worst part, concerning you or I, would be how would CBP be able to ask a dead guy 4 times where he lived?

But ya, wouldn't be a problem for the dead guy! LOL
A thought just came to mind, is there a US embassy in Canada, and is there a Canadian embassy in the US? -

Yukonjohnday Thanks this. -
I wear dog tags with my dl # and phone info and wife's name.
However, I have been told I would be screwed if in the hospital because it would take several weeks for my wife to renew her passport and others to even get it.
For some dumb reason, my wife will not go and renew hers.
Get better result talking to the wall.johnday Thanks this.
