I'm from Texas. Put all my guns & knives in a Bus locker. I had Snow Cats on. Little Korean border guard kept us 4 hours. I'm getting paid, We don't care. Wife & I became good friends with her & her Husband. I love Canada.

I've never been pulled over in Canada, maybe their troopers aren't as eager to stick it up our you-know-what lol.

When I was searched and all that, it was at the I-5 crossing in WA into Vancouver. I've also done a lot of crossings in Sweetgrass, MT and at Niagara Falls, never had any issues at those two places.

Actually, I did have an interesting experience the last time I came back into Montana. I was the only truck at the border coming into the US at that time, and I am assuming the Customs guy was bored and had a sense of humor. He spent a good solid 20 minutes trying to convince me that the load of peat moss I was carrying was actually 35,000 lbs of marijuana.

We had an interesting exchange of witty comments back and forth, and he just kept asking "Are you SURE it's not drugs?? Are you sure no one loaded anything illegal onto your truck??" About the fifth time he asked that, I said to him "Im really not sure. The only thing I can really tell you 100% for sure is that I don't have any idea what the hell peat moss is."

He cracked up laughing so loud that it caught the attention of two other people in the building near him. He smiled, said "Thanks for having a sense of humor man, you made my day." To which I replied "Ha, no problem. If there is 35,000 lbs of Mary Jane in here, someone's gonna be paying me a BIG bonus." And with that, he sent me on my way.

Definitely one of my funniest trucking moments. However, DO NOT try to start that conversation with a border patrol agent yourself, unless you like strip searches lol.

Best advice is to be direct, quick to the point, and make eye contact. Answer all questions as directly as possible, and don't joke around unless they do first.

Yeah, don't carry any weapons into Canada. They hate that, especially when you use them.

    ;)

If you have a wifi device like verizon and att don't use it in Canada. You will get a huge bill.

Allow extra time for inspections . I had to pass 4 scales between Sarnia and Bradford , ON . Two were supercoops . They will take an hour just to do a level 2 .
