Lane restriction. Being in the wrong lane. three lane. Massachusetts. I was in the wrong lane for no more then 45 seconds.

Exactly, he checked my lights, logs, and that's it. Level 3. Nothing was wrong with the truck or paper work. He also checked my bills medical card. And then out that as the violation on the inspection paper. He also have me a 40 dollar citation separate like anyone else would get driving a car. The one where you fight in court or pay and sign.

I thoight that that was a little low blow for him to do that but were all professionals here.

Informative thread. I would normally move over to help the guy out, just like you did. I understand now why not to do that now.

One thing you need to start doing and very important is keep your eyes moving at all times and look far ahead.Once you seen that 3 lanes starting to end you put your blinker on and get over when its safe to do so and remain in your lane. You need to be quicker on your toes.Four wheelers don't have patience believe me.That officer was probably watching how you drive and thought you was a risk as to why he pulled you over.Im not saying you were but you are new so what happened is to be ecspected and officers don't understand the trucking industry all they see is more revenue. When a lane is ending, start planning to get over long before its ending, not at the last minute. That way you'll have plenty of time to get over and cars will get over in the furthest lane once they see your blinker on.

The fact that he noted it on an inspection form makes it a CSA points offense, and even if you beat the ticket, you will have to appeal/DataQ the CSA points.

Thanks for the tip. He was probably watching me with his binoculars or radar or somthing I have no idea because he didn't get to me for about 3-4 miles down the road. He must have been on an overpass or somthing.

Do you thin this is somthing that can ruin my career?

You was in Mass, that explains why you got pulled over, they hate trks.I got a reckless ticket yrs back for parking my bobtail in a dirt lot next to a McDonalds behind a no parking sign.Thought reckless was driving recklessly not parked in a quiet neighborhood and not even in my trk.I was walking back from mcdonalds and seen the officer at my door.Guess every state makes up their own laws as they go.

I would hold the lane and let them deal with the issue of either passing or getting behind you. I live and work in the land of road ownership, where everyone thinks they own the road and I don't get over unless I have a clear path to return to the lane or don't need to return to the lane at all. However when ever I do get over because it is uncomfortable, I expect that person (especially in a truck) to let me back in, which doesn't happen often and surely less with truck drivers who also think they own the road.
