I guess my last question is. How long does this stay on my record? And how long does it take for the points to start falling off?

Points stay on your record for 3 yrs don't know about the other.I wouldn't worry about it.You're not a true trucker without violations, lol. We all learn by our mistakes. Now you know what to do and what not to do.It takes times.

Don't know about it showing up on your csa (It never has mine) but it will be considered a serious violation on your drivers license (or it did mine anyway), which means you sure don't need to get another within the next 3 years or your cdl will be disqualified for 60 days.

Don't know about every state but in my state, it will stay on your record for 7 years. The points drop of after 3 years and so does the serious violation. Pattyj is right, get used to getting tickets as long as you drive a truck. lol

    pattyj Thanks this.

Didn't read all the replys, but have some experience with lane infractions.
If you show up for court, and talk to judge it can possibly go down with
    paying a fine,and no points.
They want the money, but I wouldn't hesitate to lawyer up and tie up the
system,if they cant offer you something that can help you out ..
In Atlanta its a common fine for truckers. They gouge you real good, but
stay away from hitting your record. You pay $350,and go home a little
    broker,but nothing on your record.
Call some attorneys, and get some freebie advice. Its a ticket they enjoy,
and your not the first,or last to get one.

I wouldn't worry about it. You can fight it or pay it, but either way it your choice. I was cited 3 times in one week on two different occasions, then almost a year to the date was involved in a accident where I was cited again which was total bs. So in one year I got: No Seatbelt, Speeding, No Proof of Trailer Reg, and a Improper Lane Change, Approximately 650-700 in fines and over three years later from the first I have the improper lane change still on there and could get a job anywhere if I wanted, and switched jobs with all of it on there. For the future just run them down the shoulder, first time you'll get nervous then after that is becomes fun, and getting told your number one is just a everyday thing.

You should have held your lane, it's the responsibility of the car to speed up our slowdown, or driver on the shoulder. Unless it was marked trucks right lane only it sounds like you were still legal. Now I don't know how you changed lanes, but I would have backed off the throttle to get the car past verses changing lanes. As far as prepaid legal, they may get it reduces, but don't hold your breath. This to is a scam to get your money.

Seatbelt and trailer registration are not moving violations, both are zero points count, does however go to show you are not paying attention maybe.so you really have 2 tickets and a accident. Speeding and unsafe land change are both CSA reportable. Combined with the accident could keep you from a good paying job. Good luck, be safe...
