While commercial vehicles are required after Sept. 1st. to carry chains, I don't believe there are any traction law alerts at this time. If it's not snowing, might get away without having any, I've found, CDOT has no sense of humor, and best to comply.

Buy some bungees and if you’ve never chained watch some videos. Side of the road with vehicles rushing by is not the time nor the place to practice new skills.
Be sure to do them correctly, break chains. Throw chains, and or tear up truck
And tires.

I love the drive, especially Glenwood canyon...but I prefer to do it in a car on vacation. Be sure to stop in Rifle and stare at meth heads while eating at the Weinerschnitzel to celebrate getting through.
