My 1st time thru the ATL was also one of my 1st over the road experiences. Took the wrong exit, at night. Completely freaked out. Didn't want to pull over, too scared. Solution? Called the hubby at home in Mississippi to give me directions... Lol

My first time through was afternoon rush hour I was running north to south and they closed the highway between the Petro and I20 to clean up a wreck. Got off at the 15 and found a way on surface streets over to I20 and continued on my way south.
It's the same as running through any other big city. Stay calm, and take your time and you will be just fine. -
The main thing with Atlanta is you don't take a 18 wheeler inside the beltway downtown unless you have bills of lading for a specific address easily verifiable downtown. Otherwise it's a thousand dollars to tart off. There will be other fines but I am not current on them. I would be the last one to know.
BigDog Trucker Thanks this. -
