The O/Os that I put my faith in are those who went out and have their own authority btw. Anyone can just about lease on... I mean the real O/Os who wear many hats, chase down loads and do their own billing ect....

Yep scales and port of entry are easy just follow the arrows and read all the signs directing you what to do . The port of entries kind of make me wonder sometimes if im supposed to stop in it or now. Like the one I went by today in Gilette Wyoming, there was a sign that said port of entry next right. But my rule of thumb is if theres no flashing lights or sign saying weight station or all commercial vehicles must enter then im not stopping. So I kept on rolling watching my mirrors just in case mr dot wanted to come get me but no one ever came.

there are exceptions ron. and i consider myself one of them.
even though I DID go to "a mill" (technically speaking)
the instructors were all old retired truckdrivers. who taught more than just to get your CDL. they squeezed in professionalism, courtesy, and health issiues the best they could with the time given.
i also have always been the type that takes pride in MYSELF for doing something RIGHT.
i believe some of the "old hands" that are fed up with the industry as a whole and have "given up hope" are sometimes confused with what you describe as the CDL mill steering wheel holders.
THAT AND some of the newer guys, like in the rest of society just werent raised right or GIVE A #### about their own integrity, MUCH less anybody else.
sadly, it is indicative of the way the US society is heading as a WHOLE.
Working Class Patriot and Roadmedic Thank this. -
The fist page of yor permit book should be your base plate regristration.
Second page your RS 22.
Third..WY cab cad
Then the most to least important thereafter.
Pull in the port like you grew one.
Lay out your book with a straight poker face.
The scale master will see your baseplate and flipp through... Badda' Bing' Badda' Boom !!
