You might want to rework that business plan a little. Lots of companies will do that, but you’re just selling yourself into slavery and you’ll never own the truck. Trust me.BigHossVolvo, Another Canadian driver and Russell The Trucker Thank this.

Stay away from the never never plans. They set you up to fail

With current fuel prices some guys owe money every settlement. Canada is hard to get proper fuel surcharges outta carriers .many just park it in January and February..

I had to switch companies in August, CAT screwed with our contract, ( I think they were trying to get rid of o/o trucks,) so I had 2 months off.
I got on doing dedicated, which isnt bad, except i couldn't take January and February off.. 2 worst months of winter, and an mty wagon all the way back thru NB and Qc .... I've had enough of winter.. lolMagoo1968 and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -

Ain't that the truth, it's amazing the difference we get paid from are usa customers to are Canadian ones, I don't understand the discrepancy and or how Canadian companies get away with paying so little to move there ####. Not to mention you continue to hear on mom cost of transportation keeps going up hence why price increases. Were is that money going? We all know it's not being passed down to the trucksAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.

I'm making calls today to look into my own numbers. I have no payments, I know it's a lot of extra work but I can deal with that. I have an option to rent or buy a step deck from a guy close to me but it looks like van rates are high and the way to go right now. Buying or renting a van trailer may be an issue.
I've looked at this a bunch of times but stayed where I was, the money wasnt great but I liked the lanes and my terminal manager. That went away when corporate ####### with our contract.
I'll see where this leads.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
