Pretty sure the X-ray would pick up if you were smuggling people inside the sleeper.

I run tanks and you could definitely hide a bunch of stuff in there and no border agent in their right mind would climb into for a visual inspection.

 

The transponder is still basically a decal stuck to the windshield.

 

Yeah, Champlain you are not getting through without either the form filled out by hand or an ACI emanifest. They have a secondary guard shack/gate right before you hit I87 that you hand the form/manifest over to in order to exit.

Buffalo/Peace Bridge you better have an ACI, they don't even like the handwritten form. Last 3 times I went through with the handwritten the officer got ticked off because they now have to enter your info in the computer rather than just scan an ACE barcode.

Because of that I just cross at Lewiston or Alexandria Bay as they still take the handwritten form and are generally more friendly.

You would think a federal government agency would have standardized procedures but every one I have used does things differently.
