Strange, my Verizon phone works fine. I did have to get with the times a while back though and get a smart phone as my dumb phone wouldn't work in some locations.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Yes, I read it when it was posted.
I have not read all the replies.
If it happens, so be it.
And although I do have a similar reaction as that OP, I am crossing into another country and I don't carry anything that would be an issue.
And it sounds like it was a rather random or maybe a targeted effort at that time. Maybe they had a tip or something.
I want to go and have the experience of driving Canada... Maybe a few times... Bucket list kind of thing maybe... If I like it, and the strip searches are enjoyable, I might look to do a bit more... If not, been there done that, done.
Thanks for the heads up on that thread. -
Well, I don't smoke but it they make for a good barter item with the lot lizards I might have to go buy a few cases... LOL

Good suggestion. Thanks.

Oh, I assumed Verizon would be good there too but I might need to look at other options if it's more than a quick trip in and out. Thanks.
We are governed at 68 mph... I guess I can check with the office about that... Ugh. I can see getting changed from 68 to 65 for that one quick trip and then get stuck with it for much longer until I get back to the yard again...

Awesome... I will still contact Verizon to see if my iPhone will have issues or not... Thanks.

Your phone should work but international roaming can be very costly, especially for data.
Not familiar with iPhone but I'm sure you can turn off roaming for data while still keeping it active for phone calls. -
Yes, I already have that switched off. Thanks.

Which phone are you using? I bought the Droid Turbo in April 2015 and it worked great until about October/November. I didn't change my plan or anything. What happened was, Verizon uses an older technology, CDMA, and in Canada the only company with still running CDMA towers is Telus, but they turned them all off in favor of new GSM technology. So my phone will not do anything over here anymore, on any settings. The only reason I keep it is for unlimited data while in the USA. I have since changed over to a Bell smart phone.
