I agree with most of that, except for the pete against the freightshaker part. lol There is a valid reason a pete has waay more resale than a freightliner, and it isn't just looks or style either.
I am not a pete fan myself, but got to be real. lol

I got to be real too.
It's amazing what marketing can do.
They're not comfortable, none of the controls are convenient including that goofy clutch pedal, and you don't get paid any more for having one but you certainly pay more having one. And you need a football field to turn around.
Not practical, comfortable, convenient, or affordable.
Everyone should buy two.
Got to hand it to the marketing department though.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
Any update, did you buy the truck?

I think I'm going to pass on that particular truck. I found a newer one, an 03 that I'll be looking at this Saturday if I get back in town on time.ChevyCam Thanks this.

I guess it is all in what a guy calls practical.
If you buy them new, there is not much difference in the price, but decide to get out from under them in a year and that pete was the most practical by far.
Different people are comfortable with different setups, I don't like the pete clutch, not that it is terrible, but I prefer the KW one.
The cabs will take a lot more before falling apart, at least the older ones.
Some of the pete guys up here went to freightliner trying to get away from the cummins, some have gone back to pete, some have gone to stars, some have kept the freightshakers.
I own and run an older one, it is good for what it is, and gets the job done.onetime42 Thanks this.
