Thats exactly my motto 379X, and show me a aero truck getting 7mpg running donner with 80k, the Pete may be behind a couple tenths in the fuel millage department.... Friends volvo gets worse millage then my W9 right now.... We'll see on my first of the season west coast run what the truck is gonna get.

The difference between 6mpg and 7mpg at 130,000 miles a year at $4 a gallon is $12380 per year. For a $1000 a month I would drive an aerodynamic truck.

5Mouths2feed, I get your P.M and Thank you for the sites.

550, Thanks for all your help

    Ok the trucks of choice:

    1.379

    2.389

    3.W9

    4.387

    5.T2000

    6.T800

    7.T600

All set up the same and what I like is as fallows:

    475 to 565 Cummins, 13spd Trans, Rears ?, Tire size 24.5

All set up to pull a reefer in the lower 48 and maybe Canada

Oh the important thing the truck needs to get 6.0 mpg or better (just found that out)

I used to average around 6.5 to 6.7 in a '06 T-600 with a 475 cat & 10 speed. But that was company truck and I was shooting for a fuel bonus.

Hey 379X, what are you averaging with that Big Green Machine? How is it spec'd? It looks sharp (in that little tiny picture...)

if yer looking for 6+mpg....shouldnt that move the t600 to the top of the list???

i know a FEW who get 6 or better pushin a hood....but they are just that...FEW

not that im biased or anything....but a t600 is more than adiquate for the job....plus they are hard to find with a wheelbase larger that 244", as compared to a 379 or w9...where they are hard to find under

I've got a FLD120 with full skirts and a West Virgina snowplow on top pulling a covered wagon. When I was running Cleveland, Oh to E-town or Bowling Green, Ky grossing 80,000 with a 425hp 3406B mech Cat with the screws turned out I was getting 6.5 to7.2mpg.

My Dad has a W900B with same motor and running the same stuff was getting 5.5 to 6.5. He also has a Classic XL witha 550 E model that is getting 6.1. It has the Unibult sleeper on it so it does get the wind over the top of the wagon. That motor only has 50,000 miles on it and also had 3 injectors not working at full potential.
