Agreed on that. But sometimes things break and no one or thing could tell you when it was gonna happen. I had planned on rebuilding the engine end of next year but that didn't happen. Could had fixed the issue for around 15 to 20K. Decided why wait and just add 10K and get it all done now. I fill much better now knowing that it is taken care of and out of the way.
First year has been Hell!

Fixed that statement for you. There are plenty of O/O trucks that are well maintained by their owners. You need to realize your way isn't the only way to do things, and be successful.jamespmack, Fabulous Maximus, Shawn2130 and 1 other person Thank this.

I understand you learn stuff every day in any business. You have to grow with it. But setting in a truck driving from Point A to Point B for some company is not gonna teach you much unless it is some kind of custom freight. I have a lot to learn about a lot of stuff but it is pointless to me to sit in someone else's truck and get paid mere pennies to do it. Why not take on the challenge and make yourself into something better then a steering wheel holder? I know it is not for everyone and so far I enjoy the challenges I have went through. It has made me a better person and business person. I love a challenge.....Sirscrapntruckalot, Fabulous Maximus, FoolsErrand and 1 other person Thank this.

Mine is notorious for comfort, quiet, roominess, fuel mileage, and reliability. It has gone to the shop a couple of times though in 182,000 miles for def issues.Siinman Thanks this.

I had a local shop that let me have a 5k tab that I paid off in a month. Then next time I go in all work must be paid in full when complete. Thanks for nothing!

It really doesn’t, at least not for a team that hauls decent paying freight. We bought a new Volvo with 65K down and had it paid off a year later. We paid ourselves back the 65K 6 months after that. Now its gravy for the next 3 years until the warranty expires.Fabulous Maximus and Siinman Thank this.

That sucks. I have always paid cash on my service once complete.x1Heavy and Intothesunset Thank this.

Wife doesn't want to drive or I would had sold everything and done samething.

If you paid 65k down for the truck I’m sure that wasn’t your last cent so you must’ve had close to $100k in cash and/or credit.
and after you dropped the 65k, who paid for your $2k plates and $25k insurance and $40k trailer and $10k fuel?
I’m not talking about team O/O’s I’m talking about carriers with their own numbers.Last edited: Oct 12, 2019
K culon, Coffey and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Why bother getting your own numbers. Just lease on to a good company and run their freight. That way you don’t need 25K for insurance to run cheap spot freight.
