True, but that's not what's being discussed. We were discussing the specific case of having an amp hooked up to a CB.
Please note § 95.411 (c) above. It does NOT require the FCC to catch you in the act. It's up to the judge to determine what "other evidence" is, and there's case history regarding having the CB/amp set up and running being sufficient for a conviction.

The FCC can inspect your CB or amateur radio station any time they want. They dont need a complaint to make sure you are compliant with the rules. This is why whenever I purchase any used gear, especially for HF work, I always send it to a repair shop to make sure its aligned and set up properly. I dont need the FCC bugging me about my equipment causing interference.

Big question....is the guy that's trying to buy your radios off line from eBay, go by the username superhawkwss6??? If so, BEWARE!
-
No, the name is "street-car". I researched him and found his name was "J. D. Boyles" and he is some kind of signal guy with a train company. He finally quit sending me emails. I guess the last one was on Thursday. He was almost being pushy about wanting both radios but I finally just never would answer him back.
Turbo, what's the deal with the Superhawkwss6? I'm waiting on the TS2000. I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow! -
Do a google search on Superhawkwss6 and see how he has scammed so many people...in a nut shell, he buys people's CB radios, car parts, etc. on eBay, then claims it wasn't what you advertised it to be, files a dispute with Paypal, gets all of his money back, then takes your item and later, re-sells it on eBay. And if you're lucky, he MIGHT send you back a broken parts radio, block of wood, etc.in the mail, as a way of adding insult to injury. What's worse is he's been reported to eBay numerous times and still never gets banned.
BUT...Superhawkwss6 has also been known to offer to buy something you had listed on eBay, outside of eBay, when the auction becomes cancelled or doesn't sell. That way there's less of a chance to come back to him when he decides to claim your item (in good cond.) wasn't in such good condition.
Again do a google search on the name...this clown is known in the CB radio world and the Buick Grand National world as a first class scam artist. Be prepared to have a lot of time on your hands, as there's TONS of info on how this con artist has milked folks of their money AND their product.
As for the TS2000, I think you'll like it. I have the same radio and I enjoy having one box that can do a little bit of everything. -
Including 11M

I don't think I've had an HF rig that wouldn't do 11m... at least not since the '80s!

Looks like you can...

Those resistors are tiny. I'm a little scared though to try this on a $1700 radio.Last edited: Nov 20, 2012

Looking at the picture, they look like 0804 SMT resistors. They aren't that bad to desolder. However, a lot of people simply take a pair of needlenose pliers and crush them, rather than remove them.
That works just fine.
Personally, I desolder them and stand them up on end, but then I've done SMT repair work on 0402 parts. Now that's tiny...
