Agree 100%. Also a pet peeve of mine is u pick the offender, dump trucks, utility trucks contruction pickups at road speed with strobes on miles from any construction. Just driving with them on. Once followed 1 for several miles on a state rt only to have him pull in his drive, get the mail and go to the house.
Another is in Ohio posting a sheriff or state patrol at the beginning of construction, usually at a lane restriction or change. With all lights on, especially at night. I love being blinded at these areas, how safe is that.

Whenever the traffic starts seizing up or slowing rapidly I automatically flip my flashers on until I'm sure the drivers behind me know what's going on. I don't think there's a law requiring it, it's just common sense considering how people drive these days. I've noticed other drivers have started doing this as well. The old-timers don't think it's right because they're used to hearing about jams on the CB, but those days are gone due to all the other communication devices....eg.-all the recent pileups.

Cajun I know when Im beat you win. You should have been a lawyer you missed your calling. Your right I have got off topic and started to rant if you give me a day or two I will no doubt see another driver do something equally stupid and be on to that rant. Truth is Im new at heavy haul and have made a couple dumb mistakes that have cost me money and Im so pissed about them Im taking it out on this fool parked in the traffic lane. One involving the lack of a permit in washington the other bridge weight in oregon so without getting off topic again let me say in conclusion that Im not using my flashers going up hilks unless in under 25mph and althou Im interested in what other drivers are doing I probably need to pay closer attention to what Im doing before I go broke.Boardhauler, KW Cajun and snowlauncher Thank this.

Gotta give you credit...rarely if ever do I hear a driver on this site actually admit that they made some errors in judgement...you have a right to be irritated and rant about other stuff as far as I'm concerned so long as you admit fault for your own mistakes. (glass houses). Thumbs up driver! Hope you avoid anymore oversight on your heavy haul job. Good luck.

Thank you , I gotta say I have been driving truck many years and Im a state certified heavy equipment operator and Im no Dummy but learning flatbed load securment plus everything doing with heavy haul and oversize loads the last 4 months has my little brain maxed out . There are 15 of us 8 axle guys wherevI work most with many many years experience and they at least have been very encouraging telling me to give myself time to learn but when mistakes cost me money Its easier to look around for a dog to kick being I love dogs another truck driver has to do. Lol peace brother. -
Jerez, to use a tired old cliché "the only person who never makes a mistake, is the one who never does anything." I think a person does learn a bit quicker and it stays with him longer, if the mistake costs him money.

I'm never wrong and if someone points out where I'm wrong I can ban them.

So you are saying you never do anything?
