I prefer lights without a usb port which can leak water. There's something to be said for lights which can be used underwater. I have one of these lithium battery chargers on my passenger seat.

After trying it on my truck I bought two more. One to keep in my car and one for the nightstand at home.Lav-25 and kemosabi49 Thank this.

I use the 1500 Lumen LED one from Harbor Freight. It's heavy duty and very bright. It's also heavy enough and big enough with "teeth" on the front to be useful for other needs that might present themselves. They've got a similar rechargeable one that is slightly brighter, but it's also smaller with a less aggressive business end for those extra uses. Both are a lot higher quality than their cheap flashlights that are pure junk. Mine's several years old and still going strong.
I used to carry a 4 D-cell Mag Light for years, but that thing went through batteries like Sherman went through Georgia in 1864.

I went kinda crazy. I really like Nebo flashlights. Could do a review. Any of them I would be happy with.
Far left is a very good flashlight. Has enough battery. You can use it to power other things.
Second from left. A focused strong flashlight. It will spot things well a couple hundred yards away. Very useful when spotting trailer numbers in the dark. Also just fun spotting things far off. This is the least useful as a flashlight. It’s just fun. I like it.
Third and fourth duplicates. They are the most useful. I opened one to show that part. Worked great when I had to restack a pallet in a trailer in the dark. Used both. Also a magnet on bottom. I’ve stuck them on my trailer bumper. Lit up where I was backing. Worked great.
Then there’s the two pencil lights. I’d be happy with either of these as my only flashlight. They’re bright. Very handy. Hold it in my mouth if needed. One is a little longer than other. Bigger battery. I goofed up and left one at home when I went driving. Only reason I bought second.
All these flashlights are rechargeable.
I have used headlamps when running, bike riding, or working on something. Driving and all that goes with it. I haven’t found using a headlamp to be much good. My Sliders or pen lights fulfill anything I might use a headlamp for. That’s just me.
Exception… oil field tanker or pneumatic tanker. Have a really good headlamp. Stick it on a hard hat with Velcro. I dropped it off a tanker to cement once. Didn’t phase it one bit.Last edited: Jun 9, 2023

The boss gave me an intrinsically safe NightStick headband lamp for my hard hat. And I bought a Nebo Redline Flex rechargeable handheld for when I need a stronger beam, because I seem to have misplaced the Coast LED Lenser that I love. And I have a Coast PX75 for when I need UV light.

$38 from AliExpress? God ####.

I use an Olight Baton 3, it is small enough to clip on a hat and has a case that also has a battery that will charge it a few times which helps out with the downfall of most small light, where they are dead when you need them.

Olight for edc, Fenix and an inova rechargable

If it costs too little, you can always buy this one for $200 more with the prestige of a brand name.
They both have an identical emitter.

If you're a gun owner, a streamlight protac light or something similar can serve a dual purpose as long as you have a rail quick release.
dwells40 Thanks this.
