Sue Vinje was on the 2014 "Best fleet to drive for" list. Halvor Lines was on the list in 2014 AND 2015. You need to quit that dog and pony show you are humping around with and get with "The Superior Fleet" driva. When someone asks me which diet soda I drink I tell them "Diet Dr. Pepper, because it tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper than a nice warm glass of that water that is left over after you boil hot dogs on the stove"

Who in their right mind works for these pile of crap outfits. I don't care if it's 999 trucks or 2. A crap job is a crap job. If the mega carrier has a 150% turnover rate in any given year.
DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE HAPPY THERE?
All you hear is "I'm just starting out or I have a bad rap sheet."
Ya sure go work for the bottom of the barrel and see where you get.
Here is what I would do.
I would look for a small local Trucking Co., Gravel Pit, Farm, Logging Operation. Whatever. Any business that uses trucks in the operation. Walk in and ask to see the boss. Not the shift manager, not the for-man the boss that signs the checks. If he is not there or is never there you move on.
When you find that small family operation and you walk in his office or corner of a shop or sit down in his pickup. You tell him you are his next employee. Tell him you will do whatever he asks. Wash trucks and equipment on the weekend, grease, change tires. Tell him you will work your *** off but you are here to learn from him. You want to drive truck but are willing to start at the bottom and earn your way up.
That is how you get your foot in the door.
The good jobs, The ones that have never put an add in the paper or advertised for help. That is the only way you will get in as a rookie. The good operations already have a list of people waiting to get hired.
    THEY DON'T NEED TO ADVERTISE.
A long time ago an old farmer told me.
If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. Truer words have never been spoken.

My advice, go with Schneider Bulk. The Hazmat and tanker experience goes very far in the trucking industry. Also, better pay, and a lot of good future companies to get on with down the road. Keep your record clean, and you'll do fine! I don't live in TN, but have thought about relocation there. Shoot me a PM if you need any assistance!

    Good luck!

Excellent advice. But do you know what the problem with your advice is??? It would take some effort to get off of their butts and go after a good job.

It's a whole lot easier to sit behind a keyboard and fill out apps and ask people on some website what to do.

Oh well its their own loss.
