Flatbed Advice Please...Swift

Yeah we carry that label and ya you should. Try Combined Transport out of Oregon or System Transport out of WA and/or Sherman Bros out of Oregon.

 

I believe all 3 of those options also pull steps and RGNs. That could give you a goal to work toward if you decide to stay in trucking for a while.

 

I have seen a Swift flatbed... But cant remember exactly where. Theyre very rare. Guy I know lives in Cali and got hired on with flatbed, but not for Swift.

 

Used to see a lot of them running out of Las Vegas, Nv, hauling sheet rock on doubles. That was several years ago, so I can't say for sure.

 

You have a seasoned CDL, why drive for the big guys, when you can find a small outfit that will treat you better. A little refreshing on logs and CSA2010 and you'll be set. The smaller companies don't care if you've been out 5 years, as long as you kept that CDL current, they can still insure you. I personally think the big guys say that just so they can get some cheap labor while you're a trainee, and possible some government training money as well.

We have plenty of Flatbed trucks and are growing. Our flatbed division is probably as Big as some of the "large" flatbed carriers.
We have lots of freight and are averaging more than the van division in miles.

 

Met a oo Swift driver several years ago who said he'd been with them for years. All he did was haul military vehicles from the Carolinas to Cal and back. You never know, but he looked and seemed like the real deal.
