Hello, I am about to test out for my CDL next week. I have been attending a 20 week program through a local community college and I hope that my long training period will open up more doors for me. I have been looking around at flatbed only companies and I have to say that on the west coast the pickings are slim.
I have had my eye on System Transport so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? Also if anyone knows of any other companies that hire new CDL holders. I want to stick with Flatbed.
I currently live in Western Washington State and i'm 27 years old.
- Thanks

I checked Melton and it looks like they don't hire in my area.

Call and ask. Many companies hire outside their "hiring area" that's on their website. Many also hire new grads, but the website has "experience required."FlaSwampRat, Bluedew, KennyG and 1 other person Thank this.

System is a good place for a new driver. Good place to learn how to flatbed and run otr. You’ll see all 48 and Canada if you choose to run there. Good equipment. No preplanning. Going to an all auto fleet.
FlaSwampRat, Bluedew, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Did you CALL Melton and speak with a recruiter?
Last I checked (about a week ago) they were hiring throughout the 48 states.FlaSwampRat, Chinatown and KennyG Thank this. -
Combined transportation or transport. I cant remember the correct way
-
Combined in central point would be another good one also

I’m from WA too. I drive for Melton and do recommend them. You can apply right from the main page of the website you are in now. Nothing wrong with any of those companies you listed. Also try COTC in Oregon.
slim shady Thanks this. -
If you go with system and find yourself delivering to Honolulu freight don't get pissy when one of the fuel trucks wakes you up in the middle of the night. If might not look like it but that's a city street they block every night.
