From what I heard (on Roaddog) AL was upset because a number of numbskulls loaded coils improperly, and caused some bad accidents - mostly due to improper load securement. Gubberments answer... ya know what I mean?

They can require it for loads orginating in AL, but interstate commerce being what it is, they can't muck with a load originating elsewhere. Understand our flatbed division is still requiring drivers to get the certification.

My buddy Tim over in Prime flatbed div. says things are good. I suppose it's a case of getting in wherever you can.

Didn't get an answer as to why Prime isn't the best for flatbedding. Any response to that?

Can't say myself as I run the reefer side for Prime.

Notarps4me and cactusjack can't say a good word about Prime's flatbed ops - which is a completely separate operation from the reefer and tanker business. Totally different management group because of the differences in the way flatbedders do things compared to say reefer ops.

OTOH, my buddy "Tim" from orientation is a lease-op on the flatbed side. He likes what he's doing, who he's working for, and is happy with the money he's making.

    Go figure...

I pulled flats for them back in 2002 and loved it. My #### wife made me quit and come home, and I've regretted it ever since.

The Metal Coil Endorsement for NY is only for the NYS license holders not out of state drivers.
