Well, the recruiter just called and tole me my app for CT was denied for some reason!?!? He couldn't even tell me why! I don't really understand because I had no trouble getting approved for McElroy, however I'm kinda like you, I don't feel comfortable taking a hair test yet. I really am done smoking for good! I need a career, but I don't wanna risk a hair test yet! I talked to a guy from Cypress, and went to fill out an app, but it says you must be able to pass urine and hair follicle test. Do you know if Cypress really does the hair test?

Thanks, but I just called and spoke with a recruiter from Rinaudo, and they only hire with 150 mile radius from Jacksonville, Fl. I live in Salisbury, NC, about 30 minutes north of Charlotte. I'm trying to find a good flatbed carrier that just does urine tests to work with for at least a year. That way I will not only get some experience, but a year from now I would have no problem going somewhere that does hair-follicle testing. The reason I am looking into flatbed is because that division seems to be more regional offering weekends home. My main concern coming into this industry is having my time with my son taken away from me. I get my son every other weekend at the very least. My time with him is the single most important thing in my life! I do not want to go OTR where I would only get to see him once a month! I need something that at the very least offers every other weekend home. Any recommendations, or guidance you can offer me would be greatly appreciated!

i think cypress, mcelroy, melton and lots of others do hair test. i dont think tmc does. but most i talked to did hair test.. but if you got denied at CT, they probably not hiring cause the winter. and there probably dont have many loads due to the winter. Ct slows down in the winter time. CT is not a BIG company either so they might be full... who knows.

What do you know, if anything, about Howard Transportation? Do you know if they do hair test?

CT recruiter called me last week, so they must be hiring. More precisely, she was with Comcar, the CT parent, but when I mentioned I was flatbedding, she mentioned CT was an option.

Not absolutely sure, but I think Western Express flatbed just does urine.

Not sure about Howard Transportation, it's a small 150 truck outfit, but no one has posted about the test.
