Actually my next Van load is $1,900 @ $3.04 per mile. Twenty seven hours from pick to drop. Tolls zero , fuel in area $2.99. Can’t even imagine what those expenses are like in the NE.

Maybe hook to a van for awhile?

Last few I’ve done..so you don’t think I’m talking BS. Those rates shown are less 2.5% for quick pay.

Reread the posted, I said I had to deadhead out of the Chicago area.
Those loads were examples I saw play out on the load board.

Whole point is Chicago for a long time was a region you could always count on for good loads, both for Van and flatbed.
That many times would make sense to deadhead a truck a bit just to get into the good action.
This was the first time ever I found it devastating and impossible to the point where it made more sense to deadhead out.

I don't see Van loads like that on DAT.
Regardless a few very slow weeks bound to happen from time to time, it stays consistently like this for say a couple months that is different story.

Sorry, my old fading eyes saw “I’m taking” when actually you said “Talking”.

Glad you straightened me out because I been feeling awfully bad for you, lol.

I don’t use DAT. I got it in the beginning and canceled it after a month. Brokers don’t post enough information on their load and I’m not wasting my time trying to get the information for my research. I dealt with two brokers on there and both loads got cancelled at the last minute..

Trust me, I’d have a Flat on standby for the bad Van times if I had more experience with them.
Don’t feel like learning something new and all the hard lessons that are inevitable.

I think alot of flatbed has been hit by the tarriffs... alot of steel and metal comes into the country from other places that trump said #### you pay me... I know my company has lost quite a few places we would load metal in cali that came across on a boat... even then our regular work has been quite slow all year for whatever reason.

Not as much recently if you've noticed.
I had very good Spring just staying in particular areas.
The overall market has sucked still since covid ended.

If the industry comes down hard on non English speaking drivers and the tariff stuff gets resolved things can turn around quick.

But yet he is still out there working. If it was that bad he should’ve shut it down.
