Who's paying you? Shipper or customer? Shippers hold everyone over a barrel. "This is what it pays and if you don't like it someone else will load it".
But "Houston" is the operative word here! -
OK, bye!
Mommas_money_maker, SHC and FREEBRD Thank this. -
Sounds normal for Houston pipe yards, most of the time the pipe isn't ready and then come one hour before closing they are gung hoe to get everyone loaded. I would be in Houston twice a week for pipe back to OKC and I got tired of dealing with all the crap. Hurry up and wait and if you don't speak the local language you are screwed at some places.

Who cares who is paying the freight if it doesn't pay enough don't haul it. Look for something else or move on. Nobody is holding a gun to your head just say "No".FREEBRD and Mommas_money_maker Thank this.

I dont really pay attention to who's paying me as long as I get paid in which I lease to an all O/O company that makes sure I do. I have hauled loads into pennsylvania that were comparable out of the same place. I have a very good agent that I have aligned with and he knows what I want as well as I know he likes to get paid too.

Well I got stuck in Nashville yesterday, seems like freight is very slow all over. Got a load out of AL going towards St. Louis area and then back to Iowa from there. I sure hope things pick up soon because at this rate I might be selling a truck very soon and going back to US Steel lol

We had a decent run out to Ohio, across to WY, and down to OK. There's nothing in OK. Finally found a load of cubed car remains to haul to Houston. Cracked a fuel line on the way and stopped in time to watch the mexican restaurant across the road merrily burst into flames.
I've only had a problem loading out of Blytheville once at that nicer one with all the marked parking spots. Two guys running the entire place going as slow as possible. Most of the loads seem to pay pretty well but you usually end up in Texas and have to deadhead back out or 2-300 miles to Houston to find some pipe. Never loaded out of the really big plant there. Delivered some pipe to the contractors on site, though.FREEBRD Thanks this. -
i load there quite a bit, that nucor isnt bad at all. I usually only haul coils out of there
saw 3 or 4 lonestar trucks out there chaining down i-beams while i was tarping my coil. I load out of most of the places around there too. -
Coils are as it is
