The brakes on the back axle will still work but the ABS light will stay on cause the front wheels aren't moving and it detects a problem.

Well I'm getting back into the SD division game again, sitting and waitting for a refer load is just bs. I need to buy another truck preferably a KW T600 or better yet W900. Any ideas for me and,of course little to no down for the truck.

I have the stuff you want all day long, but 95% of it is heavier than you want to haul and the other stuff requires tarps! We need to get on the same page here! :biggrin_2559:

I think that's how it's really supposed to work. ABS should just back off the pressure off the wheel pair that is locking up.

But on my trailer, when there's no weight on the rear axle (dump valve on), I can feel the brakes on the front axle backing off as soon as rear tires lock up. It's like ancient 2-channel ABS on 4 wheelers when ABS was first implemented. Maybe I just need an updated module.

I'm gonna try holding the front axle up and see what happens on mine.

Interesting. That trailer must be super light then. My rig weighs 32,500 lbs total, and the tractor is 22,000 lbs.

You may want to ask the ABS people and see what they say. I do know they make a module for lift axles so when you pick them up the ABS light stays off and everything works like normal.

You must have the lightweight one, what the rating on the trailer for coils?

A friend of mine has one of these trailers, but its rated for 70k in 4'. It was one of the first 7 ever made. IIRC, he was one of two O/O's to have one, the rest went to a cpl companies.

The only problem he was having was the floor was caving in where he loaded coils.

This one is rated at 52,000 in 4' (Revelouiton 52) but they also make one for 60k (Revolution 60)
