Stepdecks paid a little more than flatbed. If you can find a decent stepdeck for less than $775 a month you'll be in better shape.

I didn't lease a truck from Greatwide, but I did lease mine to them for a short time. I can say in my case at least that they sent all the stuff to put on the truck to me overnight. I didn't have to go to any place for an orientation other than my computer at home. Greatwide is agent based. If you go this route, I would try to talk to as many agents as possible. You could be domiciled to an agency, or run the central dispatch board. When I was there, the load board available to central dispatch operators was pretty dismal. Most of the time the loads that were posted were inaccurate or posted when they shouldn't be, meant for drivers of the respective agency that were domiciled to that agent or agency. I also didn't do flatbed there, I was dry van, but I believe flatbed would have been better with an agent who hauls CAT for example.

If you end up domiciled to an agency and want to switch to another it is possible to do. But the agency you are domiciled to would have to "release" you so you could go to the other agency. In my case, the agent always agreed to my change. My experience with them was from 2023. Things may have changed since then as far as the way the operations are.

Honestly I’d probably just lease a truck from them. Probably just go to an O/O company like Merced, Super Ego, Landstar, etc

Good luck. It’s always baffling to me how some people think.Go in debt for a truck payment and think they can work less then they did without the debt.

Just be careful with lease purchase, especially with a schedule like that. A lot of those programs look flexible on paper, but the truck payment doesn’t stop when you take time off.
With your low monthly expenses and good credit, you might actually be better off looking into becoming an owner-operator leased onto a carrier that allows load selection. That way you keep more control without being locked into a strict program.
Definitely worth comparing both options before jumping in.

hey! I know this an old post, but just wanted to let you know that’s what I did!

I bought my own truck, I lease a trailer and I’m leased out to Mercer Transportation in Louisville!

I know I’ll get beat up over my opinion, but here goes
Stay away from companies that lease trucks, most are not geared for your success! If you got good credit, go to a dealer and lease a truck, then find a company that fits your needs to lease in to!
