brickman thanks for throwing that out there. we cant think of everything and thats info i should of relayed. about padding corners etc. all comes down to what your hauling. the average run of the mill loads dont take long . as far as a load taking 2hr to tarp etc. never happened to me. the more prepared you are before your loaded the more efficent you can be loading. if your loading pipe etc. even plastic stay clear until that loader is away from the trailer. but you should be chaining or strapping while being loaded within the limits of saftey. as far as logs go if im not physically working out there chaining or directing the loader etc. im off duty. one last thing if your sitting in the truck while they are loading your truck shame on you. its your responsiblity to make sure that trailer is loaded properly. and of course itll take an hour or two to chain and tarp cause you just sat there when you could of been doing something to make the process more speedy.

Nuts & Bolts I really liked your post, I feel the exact same way that you should be out there holding the yard jockeys hand even if he gets mad at you, you tell him to load your trailer YOUR way, because YOUR responsible for how it cruises down the highway. When I flatbed i'm a stickler and I will make someone move it in a heartbeat if I dont think its loaded exactly how I like my truck loaded. Always remember to CYA.

I've been flatbedding for 2 years now, but sense you made it oh so clear in another thread that I am a azhole who didn't finish the 3rd grade, I'm just gonna sit here and laugh at the thought of your scrawny ### trying to tarp in a windstorm. -
If you pay attention in orientation, your safety man will tell you what he wants on line 4. He's the one that knows what the auditor wants.
Tazz Thanks this. -
thanks
Back in the day I had times when it'd take half a day of waiting to load for 30 or 45 mins of activity loading and strapping.
When hauling hay from a rancher you never know what will happen. Some ranchers are experienced hay loaders and will get you and out fairly quickly.
Others........ make a sandwich and a pot of coffee.
You'll be there a long time because they don't really know what they are doing.
Its rare that two loads will be the same unless your job is hooking to preloaded trailers at say a lumber warehouse.
