Flatbed/Open Deck/Machinery Haulers

John Deere is our biggest customer. We haul tractors from Waterloo, and construction & forestry equipment from Dubuque and Davenport. I think Paton is in Western Iowa. We are on the Mississippi River. How did you end up in Iowa out of Maine?

 

Whatever is available. We haul some equipment that is made overseas and is coming into the port. Other things that are imported like industrial machinery, steel, etc. For the last year, we have had to rely on brokers more than we like, but we usually keep the guys moving. The only layovers I can recall were when drivers delivered after lunch. Our biggest problem is that we try to keep our rates reasonable, and our competition seems to be willing to lose money to get back to the midwest.

 

I am looking for Independent Contractors that live in IN, OH, PA and MD to run between Iowa and the East Coast (usually Baltimore). We haul farm and construction equipment manufactured in Iowa to the East Coast and points between. Our Independent Contractors will make between $150-200K and be home every weekend.
