Great post buddy and kind of coincidental too. I was born in Feb. (Congrats on the new young one coming) and Hmmmm...I don't remember owning any charity but that's my name....LOL
I'm happy about waking up each day and just having another shot at making life better than yesterday.![]()

John Deere is our biggest customer. We haul tractors from Waterloo, and construction & forestry equipment from Dubuque and Davenport. I think Paton is in Western Iowa. We are on the Mississippi River. How did you end up in Iowa out of Maine?
Half a Load Thanks this. -
I started Hancock Lumber in Bethel, ME, to Marvin Winders, Warroad, MN, D.H. down to Bemidji to pick up a load of 'pallet' 2x4's (crap), off to Omaha, NE, then up to Paton, IA (yes, north-west of Des Moines) to get a 'Half a Load' of custom cut square channel steel. Then off to someplace in south-eastern PA, over the gap, through the keyhole, and off to Sayerville, NJ we go! Then it's Sayerville Steel to McFarland Steel, Fryeburg, Maine, D.H. back to Naples and home. Just a typical run, y'know. -
They were not as good as they were rated to be! Oh well! -
I know you take equipment out to Baltimore....what do you haul back?
-
Whatever is available. We haul some equipment that is made overseas and is coming into the port. Other things that are imported like industrial machinery, steel, etc. For the last year, we have had to rely on brokers more than we like, but we usually keep the guys moving. The only layovers I can recall were when drivers delivered after lunch. Our biggest problem is that we try to keep our rates reasonable, and our competition seems to be willing to lose money to get back to the midwest.

I am looking for Independent Contractors that live in IN, OH, PA and MD to run between Iowa and the East Coast (usually Baltimore). We haul farm and construction equipment manufactured in Iowa to the East Coast and points between. Our Independent Contractors will make between $150-200K and be home every weekend. Our customers are asking us to take on more business and we want you to share in our success. Send me a message if you have questions, or find more information and an application at www.papetransfer.com. I will guarantee we will tell it like it is. We only want drivers that will be happy with us, and vice versa. No BS here. Your final interview will be with the boss himself, my father.
Half a Load Thanks this. -
