I am a contractor, with 48' spread axle flat. I don't like running north of the Mason-Dixon line on a regular basis, but will do it occasionally. I will not run anything northeast of Pennsylvania. There is too much America to run in to have to put up with that garbage.

In my 34 years behind the wheel, I have never made it to the Louisville Truck Show! This is my year. I am going! I will park the truck on Wednesday and the wife and the pickup truck and ME will be there Thursday to check into the hotel and head to the fairgrounds. God willing!!!!

Have a good time in Louisville. I have never been there before, and I am not sure it is my scene. I am not a big fan of crowds. I hear it is definitely something to see.
You would spend quite a bit of time above the Mason Dixon line running for us. Currently, I would say 10% (or a little less) of our outbound loads go to FL, GA, AL, MS, AR, and TX. Normally, a truck would leave Iowa heading South. We would reload back to the upper Midwest. To be honest, I am not certain if we could get you home every weekend. Right now, freight is strong and I can get loads going where we need to go. If things slow down, the cheap carriers tend to take the loads going South.
Almost all of our freight that goes south would be on step or RGN. I am not sure if pulling our trailer would be an option for you. I would be happy to discuss the situation with you. my phone number is on our web site www.papetransfer.com. -
cpape how are things on your side doing?

We are very busy on both the open deck and the van side of our operations. The van business is shifting a little more toward a regional business, which works just fine. How are things for you?

Bittersweet day--Great driver rejoined my company about 6 months ago after 5 years in the Marines as a helicopter mechanic on Marine One. He was accepted into helicopter pilot training. Dream come true for him. Sucks for me...but I still have to feel great for him. Way to go Roy!
