    Just realized those last 2 posts are a little confusing. The driver making 1.41/mi pulls our van trailer working under his own authority. Our open deck contractors are making 1.68/mi pulling our trailer with a large rate increase coming. They run under our authority.

    Hey Cpape, just checkin in with ya on the owner op. spots. i just wondering the requirements were for a owner op living around the cincinntai area. my truck is a 06. got a few questions.....just checking to see if cincinnati was still a good area for your owner ops.....Thanks. Adam.

    If you have a plate, you should be able to run on it. It is really up to you.

    Yes, mostly between Eastern IA and Baltimore and all states in between. A little to the NE, SE and South, but not much. Almost nothing to the West.

    ok. i will be up for renewal on mine here soon, thats why i asked. i know some companys want you to run their plate. just wasnt sure what your policy was.

    We have never really recruited drivers that live away from Dubuque. We are starting to do this, and are considering using internet sites to recruit independent contractors. What are your experience with internet recruiting sites? Any good or bad ones?

    Well, there's here, another site that a previous company hired me off of but ###### if I can remember where it was, and my current job got my attention with craigslist. They're not having much luck with it, though, still have some empty trucks they can't fill. My boss at the previous company mentioned a site that has an alternative to DAC reporting, if that helps.
