No the manufacturer didn’t warranty that. What caused that to fail is overloading. Step with ramps is not an equipment trailer. They were never designed for these ramps to be bolted on them. These pictures are of an actual member who bragged about taking lowboy freight and putting it on his step. His name was Hurst. He talked all about how versatile he was and how he can load anything. Have you really done you homework? Have you studied to see how much step freight there is in GA? What is it paying compared to flat? What does return loads look like? I live just across lake Hartwell from you. I know what it looks like. Or are you just defending your idea.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Everyone has an opinion about rates and lanes so here is mine. My understanding is that the DAT Freight Rates are for the previous week of loads posted to their boards. I look at the DAT Flatbed Rates on a weekly basis and I use them as a baseline to determine where I am going to look first for healthy paying freight. DAT is not my sole data provider for updated rates. That would be poor business. I look at several load boards to see what the averages are currently and then plan accordingly.

I didnt know that step decks were rated for specific types of freight. I've also never seen a step of ramps that were bolted. I thought they were all welded to the frame.
I dont spend a lot of time in GA.

Been talking to a sales rep friend of mine(trailer manufacturer). Hes been doing it for decades. He said you are right on point. The aluminum stepdeck isnt rated for tracked equipment. He said smaller tracks and rubber track are ok, but not that CAT. Thanks for the lesson.

12/24/2019-02/06/2020 my average is 1.72$ per odometer mile,
Last week was 1.90$ per odo mile,
    2550 miles average,53ft flat,6months old authority.
In october while i was driving a van i asked a guy how much he makes driving flat he said this week he made 4800$ gross for only 1700 miles so thats over 2.8$ a mile.
I havent seen those numbers yet.

Spring-Fall should be a high season for flat i think.

My rates this year. Odometer miles. 53ft Flatbed Conestoga. A lot of home time in Cleveland, OH.
If in column NOTE are numbers - it's partial. First number is pickup stop, second - delivery (1-2 mind that it picked it up first and dropped second). Miles in this trips are distributed between loads so we have the same RPM.

Loadboard only... Company is 10 years old, but that not the company average rates. Just virtuoso dispatch!

If I remember right it was a d6. You'd have to be high or stupid to haul a d6 on an aluminum step. But on the other hand I've got an old 42 foot steel dropdeck with a beaver tail that id have no worries about sticking a d6 on. It's so old it doesn't even have maxi brakes and weights nearly 20k lbs. Definately not a typical general freight step.
