Below are the pay to the truck and the total miles (loaded or empty) that my contractors ran the week of August 8th. It is vacation season, so not all contractors worked, and some were working partial weeks. All-in-all, a pretty good representation.

I may be looking to be a company driver if this owner operator I have been talking to does not come back with what he has been saying, I would be looking to come back this way as the company could with moving as the traffic did.

I have experience with RGN, lowboys and flatbed with oversize and over dimensional experience but not a expert.

Currently, we are only hiring company drivers that live within driving distance of our Dubuque or Waterloo terminals. Possible exceptions would be experienced machinery haulers that live along our traffic lanes. Florida would not fit into this scenario. We could work with Ind Cont that live anywhere in the Eastern Half of the country.

Over-the-road--run the eastern half of the country. Be home 2 days per weekend. Average 1.81 on all miles (loaded or empty), and 2300 miles per week.

MW region--Run in MN, WI, IA, IL, MI, IN, MI & OH.

Shorthaul--run in Eastern Iowa, Northern IL and the Chicago/Northern IN area. Be home multiple times during the week and on weekends.

New opportunities in MN are creating additional opportunities for contractors out of Southern MN and Northern Iowa (east of I35).

Get in touch if you have questions or want to talk about how to apply.

Are you out of Chicago or Ohio? What type of trailer do you have? Both are excellent areas for our open deck division. Where are you interested in running?

The numbers posted were for open deck contractors. The rates for van contractors would be signigicantly different. I am also unsure how well it would work for you to own your own trailer. Most of our van loads are preloaded.

If you are interested, filling out an applicatoin would be the best first step. You can download it from our web site, www.papetransfer.com. Either mail it or fax it in. If you do this, be sure to PM me your name so I can watch for the ap.

Would your brother own his truck or would you? In the past we have stayed away from "fleet owners." Any situation would be reviewed. Your brother would also have to apply.

I want to get into open deck.. it doesn't seem hard to learn how to secure the load, and I'm a very quick learner.. does that work for you? or do you need drivers with that experience?
