Do not try to minimize your securement.
One thing I have adopted since my early flatbed time is to throw everything onto the load. If God can bend down pick up the trailer and turn it upside down the securement needs to be massive enough to keep the load on the deck.
A few more minutes in securing. But when a large car full of drunken teens coming for you, you will appreciate that you have taken that time to do your best with it. Many drivers will tell you that my position is way too excessive and they would be right. But those are the moments you would want that secured.Lepton1 Thanks this. -

Do they make any lightweight waterproof tarps.TBH ive never tarped,never had to w building materials.Also whats a good all purpose tarp for everything?Last edited: Feb 27, 2025

You buying for yourself?
Lightweight imo is closer to water resistant than “proof”
All purpose is kinda wide open/ 27x24 with a 8’ flap @ 18oz x2 will do 90% of anything you gotta tarp; but if youre mostly doing across town plate steel or coils that would be a lot more than youd want
