I would stay away from it. And I bet the engine hours are high from excessive idling

This is ridiculous. I have less the 140k cash in 2 houses! One a duplex and sends me checks!

No Sir my 13k subpar freightliner is just gd fine with me! It profits more than that Shinny turd!

    That is stupid!

Honestly, I haven't heard anything about DDEC II, III, or IV Detroits eating turbos..

If any of them are, I'd suspect it'd be the DDEC V, & VI engines with VNT turbos, egr, & dpf systems..

@jamespmack would be the guy who knows for sure..

For the record I run a 1992 11.1L series 60, 350hp. I only gross 55k lbs. Not exactly sure on the miles, but it shows 1.15 million, 34,xxx hours. As of now the only thing major that been done is a camshaft that had some scoring on it, most likely from dirty oil. Probably could've ran that cam a while longer, but replaced it last year about this time..

Not trying to steer you away from a Cummins..
They are excellent engines from most everything I hear. Just something else to consider if the right truck comes your way..

I've only experience with the 5.9 & 6.7l ISB engines.
