Don't get me wrong, there are guys out there who love every minute of what they do, and that's awesome. Just because flatbed isn't for me doesn't mean it's not for someone else.

Like I said, you have to decide what YOU want. It's your life and your career, and both divisions at Maverick are great positions to work.

Ya this company in my opinion, it seems like they actually care about their drivers unlike swift, werner, JB, and schneider where they just want a warm body

Well, I run a dedicated account, so yes, I have to tarp every load I haul. Our customer requires all of our loads to be tarped. How much do I do?? LOL! Sometimes I will have a day that starts at a consignee (delivery customer) and I untarp and unsecure and get unloaded. Then I run over to get my next load, secure, tarp and can make it all the way to this new consignee in the same day, so I will untarp, unsecure, and get empty again. If I still have enough time for another reload, yep, I go get it, secure it, tarp it, and then usually race to go get parked somewhere close by and sleep. Or maybe hang out at the Denny's at the Flyin J and start telling some Maverick driver how tired I am after that day and come to find out its Evil_E who is on here regularly LOL! Most of the OTR div guys might have 3-4 loads per week, and say 3 of the 4 need tarped, for example. It really depends on the shipper and consignee as to whether the load needs to be tarped for the most part. I know that the OTR divs have what is referred to as "Winter tarping rule" in which even if their work assignment says the load does not require tarp, that they must tarp it anyways. Usually steel or aluminum, that can possibly be damaged by road salt. It is not always mandatory to tarp though. You could get a load of gray bar out of Ft. Smith that doesn't require one. Those are the loads that Danfromwindsor enjoys LMAO. And Sewerman likes tarping so much that he has been known to even tarp his trailer even when it is empty!

Wow, I didn't know there were any 2010 models still rolling in the fleet (not counting ICs). Most of the 2011s are gone too, I'm seeing lots of 13s and some new 14s in NLR.
