Flat bed and rgn is all i will ever do when you get to a reciever 99% of the time theres no bs about getting unloaded most of the time i'am in and out in less than 45 minutes loading and unloading tarping can be a pain but thats what makes it interesting its all in what you make of it plus you get some exercise instead of just sitting on your but all day and i've never had a shipper or reciever refuse me a restroom like so common with the van side.

That aquarium job sounded really cool. Hopefully it was fishless(though I know I would LOVE to see a semi with sturgeons and bass swimming around!)

HEY! no fishing on the job, literally!

I'm used to farms and factories, so I was thinking the physical work of flatbeds would be nice also.

I like your stories GasHauler, thats the stuff that has me interested in this work. Why do you say you'll never switch from tankers?

Because it's the most challenging and the pay and benefits were out of this world. The company depended on us drivers to keep the trucks in top shape and they had no problem if you went to the shop. Each of us treated the trucks as if they were ours and we all worked well together. There was alot of respect for us from the top down and you just felt good going to work everyday. Plus we got paid for every minute we were on the job. You've just got to love hourly wages. Of course there's many more reasons but it's nice to be treat as a professional and paid for your skill.

    Working Class Patriot Thanks this.

Those balance points are fun aren't they? The only time I really puckered was when you had metal to metal and it was raining. Once the equipment started to slide there was no stopping it. I know guys that would walk some equipment off the side of the trailer with no ramps but I thought it was just too much of a strain on the trailer.
