Yeah but they dont really have a true flatbed division... basically they have a handful of customers that need a flatbed to load their #### on... if they could fit it in a van there really wouldnt be a need for swifts flatbed divison... i could count on 1 hand how many brokered loads i did with them .... I would not recommend starting with them in flatbed because there isnt really alot of odd ball loads, that u need when ur first starting... once i switched companies it was like starting over again...hauling all kinds of #### to everywhere in the country.. In hindsight id wished i wouldve went to system transport or melton
I swear I saw a swift pulling a step deck the other day. Today I saw an actual swift mid roof flatbed truck. Seems the swift flats I have seen in the past were regular ole swift trucks with stand up sleepers etc
Much appreciated on the response. This is exactly what I was hoping to get from this post, man. Figured I might as well aim high to start, gave TMC a call and they actually do consider new hires in my region, got kinda lucky as I'm located right on the edge of their line in Mi. Just won't be able to go through their CDL school. I'm coming up with a plan to get my CDL under my own steam, then just apply and go through TMC's securement school if I get the job. You're 100% right about the load variety. Certainly considering TMC/Maverick/GypsumExpress for that exact reason. I'd rather see as much as possible in the first few years so when I find a company I really wanna drive for I can show up and not make a fool of myself lol.
Let's just say I have a company black list and they're near the top, lol. But that info might come in handy, ya never know.
